Abstract[English] An electrolysis cell and a method of using are disclosed herein. The electrolysis cell comprising a source of electromagnetic radiation configured to irradiate at least a portion of the cell at a first wavelength range suitable to increased production rates of hydrogen gas and improved energy efficiency during the electrolytic decomposition of water under the electrolytic hydrolysis conditions.[French] L'invention concerne une cellule d'électrolyse et un procédé d'utilisation.
