, dihedral corner reflectors (DCRs)) is arranged in and/or under a road line to reflect laterally incident radar signals laterally and upwardly back toward the signal source. The array can be used as a reflective target for a radar transceiver mounted on or in a vehicle. If the array is in or under a line marking the edge of a road or lane, and the radar transceiver is oriented to transmit a radar signal sideways from the vehicle and partially downward toward the line, then the reflections of the radar signal from the array can provide distance measurements between the transceiver and the array. Those distance measurements can be used either to guide the vehicle laterally autonomously or to assist a driver with lateral steering (global check, lane keeping assistance or lane departure warning).[French]
