Abstract[English]
A baby bottle, a flow control for a baby bottle, a baby bottle including a flow control system, and a method of feeding an infant that serves to pace the infant's feeding rhythm. Generally, these devices and methods will be of use for a preterm infant who lacks coordination of the suck¬ swallow-breathe synchrony, but can also be used with full term infants who can benefit from control of the flow of milk from a bottle, this includes, but is not limited to, infants with gastroesophageal reflux who can require pacing of feeds to allow for gastric emptying. The device generally regulates the flow of the fluid from the bottle as desired by the feeder. The device also serves to consistently slow the flow of milk during oral feeding.[French]
L'invention concerne un biberon, une régulation de débit pour un biberon, un biberon comprenant un système de régulation de débit, et un procédé d'alimentation d'un nourrisson qui sert à définir le rythme d'alimentation du nourrisson. De manière générale, ces dispositifs et procédés sont utiles chez un nourrisson prématuré qui manque de coordination dans la synchronie aspiration/déglutition/respiration, mais peuvent également être utilisés chez des nourrissons à terme qui peuvent bénéficier de la régulation du débit de lait provenant d'un biberon, par exemple, mais sans y être limité, chez des nourrissons ayant un reflux gastro-oesophagien qui peuvent nécessiter une définition du rythme d'alimentation pour permettre une vidange gastrique.
