Abstract[English]
The invention relates to an innovative cylindrical foam spring for use in mattresses, cushions and pillows, providing an improved alternative to conventional steel springs and to current foam solutions. The spring consists of a cylindrical foam body with a central cavity, formed from a strip of flexible foam. This body has distinctive grooves on the inner and outer circumferential faces, arranged in an offset manner in order to reduce stress and prevent deformation while maintaining the resilience and stability necessary for an effective spring effect. The grooves, which act as force-distribution channels, enable variable compression and recovery depending on the orientation of the force applied, thus contributing to adaptive and comfortable support. This unique design provides the spring with anisotropic mechanical properties, optimising its functionality in various bedding applications. In addition to providing dynamic and adaptive support, this design improves pressure distribution, minimises pressure points, and promotes natural alignment of the spine.
