A preheating and melting system for steel with a double melting furnace comprises a first and a second crucible for loading scrap (1), (2), a first and a second oxygen lance system equipped with a burner (3), (4), a mobile system of electrodes (5), a first and a second extractor hood system (6), (7), a first and a second flue (8), (9), a hot fume flue (12). When the first extractor hood system (6) is in operation, the second flue (9) is connected to the second extractor hood system (7), while when the second extractor hood system (7) is in operation, the first flue (8) is connected to the first extractor hood system (6). A method for preheating and melting steel involves a preheating and melting system for steel with a double melting furnace.[French]
