Abstract[English]
This invention relates to a hybrid composite and its manufacturing process, more specifically, a hybrid composite made from wood veneer that has been modified with bacterial cellulose and aramid woven fibres to produce a composite that can be used as a material in the manufacture of bulletproof vests. The manufacturing process of the hybrid composite starts with preparing wood veneers, delignifying veneers, adding bacterial cellulose, drying, and pressing the veneers using a hot press machine. The hybrid composite is made by pressing woven aramid fibres between the modified wood veneers and using epoxy as an adhesive. This invention's hybrid composites can absorb ballistic energy and trauma energy better than non-hybrid composites as a composite armour material for bulletproof vests.[French]
La présente invention concerne un composite hybride et son procédé de fabrication, plus spécifiquement, un composite hybride fabriqué à partir d'un placage de bois qui a été modifié avec de la cellulose bactérienne et des fibres tissées d'aramide pour produire un composite qui peut être utilisé en tant que matériau dans la fabrication de gilets pare-balles. Le procédé de fabrication du composite hybride commence par la préparation de placages de bois, la délignification de placages, l'ajout de cellulose bactérienne, le séchage et le pressage des placages à l'aide d'une machine de presse à chaud. Le composite hybride est fabriqué en pressant des fibres d'aramide tissées entre les placages de bois modifiés et en utilisant de l'époxy comme adhésif. Les composites hybrides selon la présente invention peuvent mieux absorber l'énergie balistique et l'énergie de traumatisme que les composites non hybrides en tant que matériau de blindage composite pour des gilets pare-balles.
