Abstract[English]
The present invention in particular relates to a method for reducing virus shedding, colonization of lymphoid tissue, and/or lymphoid depletion caused by or associated with a porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) infection in a pig, the method comprising administering orally to the pig an immunogenic composition comprising non-replicating PCV2 antigen. In one example, an immunogenic composition is administered via the oral route to a pig, wherein the immunogenic composition comprises a recombinantly produced and purified PCV2 ORF2 protein. This allows to simply reduce virus shedding, colonization of lymphoid tissue, and/or lymphoid depletion caused by associated with a PCV2 infection in the pigs, while simultaneously reducing the propensity for adverse reactions, eliminating the risk of injection site reactions, avoiding pain, and putting less stress on the animals.[French]
La présente invention concerne en particulier une méthode de réduction de l'excrétion virale, de colonisation du tissu lymphoïde et/ou de déplétion lymphoïde provoquées par ou associées à une infection par le circovirus porcin type 2 (PCV2) chez un porc, la méthode consistant à administrer par voie orale au porc une composition immunogène comprenant un antigène PCV2 non réplicatif. Dans un exemple, une composition immunogène est administrée par voie orale à un porc, la composition immunogène comprenant une protéine ORF2 PCV2 produite et purifiée de manière recombinée. Ceci permet de réduire simplement l'excrétion virale, la colonisation du tissu lymphoïde et/ou la déplétion lymphoïde provoquées par une infection par PCV2 chez les porcs, tout en réduisant simultanément la propension à des réactions indésirables, en éliminant le risque de réactions du site d'injection, en évitant la douleur, et en induisant moins de stress chez les animaux.
