There is provided an apparatus comprising: means for determining, based on an index for a modulation and coding scheme, MCS, a first number of resources that are available for a first code block group, CBG, and means for determining a second number of resources that are available for a second CBG based on: the first number of resources, and a total number of resources that are available for transmitting both the first CBG and the second CBG, wherein the first CBG and the second CBG are to be transmitted in a first data channel, wherein the first CBG comprises one of: data for initial transmission, or data for re-transmission, and the second CBG comprises the other of: the data for initial transmission, or the data for re- transmission. The apparatus also comprising: means for performing one of: a transmission, or a reception, of the first CBG and the second CBG based on the first and the second number of resources.[French]
