A user equipment (UE) is provided in which a first UE network function of UE network functions of the UE that determines that a NAS procedure associated with the user equipment has been initiated between the first UE network function and a first core network function of the corresponding core network functions that corresponds to the first UE network function The UE network functions are configured for non-access stratum (NAS) messaging with corresponding core network functions.
