A method of identifying and counting a plurality of sample containers including: providing a plurality of sample containers, wherein each sample container has a dual frequency RFID tag attached to the sample container, wherein a first frequency is configured to provide an identification of the sample container and a second frequency configured to count the plurality of sample containers; counting a number of sample containers in the plurality of sample containers by accessing the second frequency of each sample container; and obtaining the identification of each sample container by accessing the first frequency. L'invention concerne un procédé d'identification et de comptage d'une pluralité de récipients d'échantillon comprenant : la fourniture d'une pluralité de récipients d'échantillon, chaque récipient d'échantillon ayant une étiquette RFID à double fréquence fixée au récipient d'échantillon, une première fréquence étant configurée pour fournir une identification du récipient d'échantillon et une seconde fréquence étant configurée pour compter la pluralité de récipients d'échantillon ; le comptage d'un nombre de récipients d'échantillon dans la pluralité de récipients d'échantillon en accédant à la seconde fréquence de chaque récipient d'échantillon ; et l'obtention de l'identification de chaque récipient d'échantillon en accédant à la première fréquence.
