A component for a vehicle interior configured to provide a visual effect is disclosed. The component may comprise a composite structure comprising a carrier and a panel and/or module; the panel may comprise a light guide with light guide structure and cover; the composite structure may be illuminated by a light source; the visual effect may comprise a light effect. A composite visual effect is provided by attributes of features of the cover and/or light guide structure and/or by concealment of the light guide structure under the cover; attributes including shape, size, design, geometry, structure, color, combination, pattern, layering, spacing, etc. with ambient light and/or illumination (static, dynamic, animated, variable, etc.) may produce a variety of visual effects and light effects. Features/objects of the light guide structure and cover and manner of illumination (e.g. color, variation, frequency, amplitude, etc.) and base/decorative effect of the composite structure produce a visual effect.[French]
L'invention concerne un composant pour l’habitacle d’un véhicule, ce composant étant conçu pour produire un effet visuel. Ledit composant peut comprendre une structure composite comprenant un support et un panneau et/ou un module ; le panneau peut comprendre un guide de lumière présentant une structure de guidage de lumière et un élément de recouvrement ; la structure composite peut être éclairée par une source de lumière ; l'effet visuel peut comprendre un effet de lumière.
