An apparatus includes means for determining at least two sets of active transmission configuration indicator, TCI, states; means for receiving, from a network entity, an indication of an active TCI state to use, wherein the active TCI state belongs to one of the at least two sets of active TCI states; means for determining a beam based on the received indication of the active TCI state; and means for applying the determined beam for receiving a downlink channel, or applying the determined beam for transmitting an uplink channel.[French]
