Abstract[English] A linear polyethylene (PE) polymer product with improved barrier properties and mechanical properties, and the methods of synthesizing thereof are provided. The PE polymer product can have a density of from 0.922 to 0.940 g/cm3 and a water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of 1.0 g-mil/100 in2-day or less, where the PE polymer product comprises from 100 to 3,000 ppm of a nucleating agent. Balancing the barrier properties and mechanical properties, the PE polymer product can be suitable for various packaging applications.[French] L'invention concerne un produit polymère à base de polyéthylène linéaire (PE) présentant des propriétés barrières et mécaniques améliorées, ainsi que ses procédés de synthèse. Le produit polymère à base de PE peut présenter une densité variant de 0,922 à 0,940 g/cm3 et un coefficient de transmission de la vapeur d'eau (WVTR) égal ou inférieur à 1,0 g-mil/100 in2-jour ou moins, le produit polymère à base de PE comprenant de 100 à 3 000 ppm d'un agent de nucléation. Présentant un bon équilibre entre propriétés barrières et propriétés mécaniques, le produit polymère à base de PE peut être approprié pour diverses applications d'emballage.
