A binocular assembly (20) includes a first optical pathway (32A) extending from a flat plate mirror (34) to a first eyepiece assembly (24A). The first optical pathway (32A) includes a first penta-right angle prism (36A), a first optical focusing assembly (38A) located along a first focusing axis (44A) for focusing the first optical pathway (32A) from the first penta-right angle prism (36A), and a first pair of right-angle prisms (50A) located along a first prism axis. The binocular assembly also includes a second optical pathway (32B) extending from the flat plate mirror (34) to a second eyepiece assembly (24B). The second optical pathway (32B) includes a second penta-right angle prism (36B), a second optical focusing assembly (38B) located along a second focusing axis (44B) for focusing the second optical pathway (32B) from the second penta-right angle prism (36B), and a second pair of right-angle prisms (50B) located along a second prism axis.[French]
