Abstract[English]
The present invention relates to the use of D-beta-hydroxybutyrate (D-BHB) in the treatment or dietary management of a Long-Chain Fatty Acid Oxidation Deficiency (LC-FAOD), for example, in the prevention and/or amelioration of one or more symptoms associated with LCFOAD. Additionally, the invention provides compositions comprising D-BHB as the active ingredient. These compositions may be formulated as pharmaceutical compositions or nutritional compositions, such as Foods for Special Medical Purposes (FSMPs).[French]
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de D-bêta-hydroxybutyrate (D-BHB) dans le traitement ou le suivi diététique d'un déficit d'oxydation des acides gras à chaîne longue (LC-FAOD), par exemple, dans la prévention et/ou l'atténuation d'un ou de plusieurs symptômes associés au LC-FAOD. De plus, l'invention concerne des compositions comprenant du D-BHB en tant que principe actif.
