Abstract[English] A method for optimizing a flow of water of a swimming pool or spa includes monitoring a parameter associated with performance of a first piece of equipment of the swimming pool or spa, such as but not limited to a heat pump, and relative to a target for the parameter. The method includes activating a bypass valve such that water bypasses the first piece equipment based on the parameter reaching or exceeding the target.
