Abstract[English]
A method of mimicking health benefits of physical exercise in a cat can include administering a high protein diet to a cat, the high protein diet including from about 110% to about 350% of a Recommended Daily Allowance (RD A) of protein for the cat on a daily basis. The high protein diet in this example is sufficient to increase a 12,13-diHOME blood level for an 18-24 hour period per day compared to a baseline blood level without the need for physical exercise.[French]
L’invention concerne un procédé d'imitation de bienfaits pour la santé d'un exercice physique chez un chat pouvant consister à administrer un régime riche en protéines à un chat, le régime riche en protéines comprenant d'environ 110 % à environ 350 % d'un apport journalier recommandé (AJR) de protéine pour le chat sur une base journalière. Le régime riche en protéines dans cet exemple est suffisant pour augmenter une concentration dans le sang de 12,13-diHOME pendant une période de 18 à 24 heures par jour par rapport à une concentration sanguine de référence sans nécessiter d'exercice physique.
