A monolithic, vertically integrated, light emitting diode (LED) device (200) for radiative sterilization includes a substrate (202), a deep ultraviolet (DUV) active region (208) located on the substrate (202) and configured to generate DUV light (209), a visible (VIS) active region (220) located on top of the DUV active region (208) and configured to generate VIS light (226), and first and second electrodes (234, 236) configured to inject an electrical current that simultaneously excites the DUV active region (208) and the VIS active region (220) to simultaneously generate the DUV light (209) and the VIS light (226).[French]
