Abstract[English]
A computer graphics facilitator system (BSF) and related method of facilitating Boolean subtraction between two 3D surface models, a first model (MN, CTE) and a second model (SB, CTR). The system is operable to remove an intersection portion between the two models from one of the models, referred to herein as the first model (MN, CTE), the first model (MN, CTE) being a mesh model, thereby leaving an opening in the said first model. The system is to identify the opening so formed as a loop based on extant mesh elements of the first model. The system closes-off the opening by forming a closing-off surface (COS) from new mesh elements based on extant mesh elements of the first model.[French]
L'invention concerne un système facilitateur graphique informatique (BSF) et un procédé associé pour faciliter une soustraction booléenne entre deux modèles de surface 3D, un premier modèle (MN, CTE) et un second modèle (SB, CTR). Le système est utilisable pour retirer une partie d'intersection entre les deux modèles de l'un des modèles, appelé ici premier modèle (MN, CTE), le premier modèle (MN, CTE) étant un modèle maillé, laissant ainsi une ouverture dans ledit premier modèle. Le système est destiné à identifier l'ouverture ainsi formée comme étant une boucle sur la base d'éléments de maillage conservés du premier modèle. Le système ferme l'ouverture par formation d'une surface de fermeture (COS) à partir de nouveaux éléments de maillage sur la base d'éléments de maillage conservés du premier modèle.
