Abstract[English]
Combining UV and/or visible light, a conveyor, a computer and photodetectors is an efficient and cost-effective way to determine if any reared and breeding insects are sick and/or dead. A pool of insects placed on a conveyor allows sick and/or dead insects that are present in the pool to be detected because they move into a beam of UV and/or visible light, wherein they emit light (e.g., fluorescent light), which can be detected by photodetectors. The computer that may be operationally attached to the UV and/or visible light, the photodetectors, and the conveyor may be able to ascertain an exact position where the one or more sick and/or dead insects is/are.[French]
La combinaison de lumière UV et/ou visible, d'un transporteur, d'un ordinateur et de photodétecteurs est une manière efficace et économique de déterminer si des insectes d’élevage et de reproduction sont malades et/ou morts. Un bassin d'insectes placé sur un transporteur permet la détection d’insectes malades et/ou morts qui sont présents dans le bassin parce qu'ils se déplacent dans un faisceau de lumière UV et/ou visible, où ils émettent de la lumière (par exemple, une lumière fluorescente), laquelle peut être détectée par des photodétecteurs.
