Abstract[English]
The invention is directed to a knotter assembly for use with a baler, the knotter assembly configured to form knots in strands of a binding material used to secure a formed bale. The knotter assembly includes a knife guard and a cam lobe formed on a twine disc. During a completing knot tie cycle, the strands are held in one of the notches of the twine disc, the knot is tied, and the strands are cut by the knife. During a leading knot tie cycle, the cam lobe causes the knife guard to pivot such that the knife guard moves ahead of a cutting edge on the knife. Instead of the knife cutting the strands as in the completing knot tie cycle, the strands are pulled out of the twine disc by the knife guard and are released uncut from the twine disc assembly.[French]
