Abstract[English]
butylethylenediamine to form the poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether). The N,N'-di-tertbutylethylenediamine is present in an amount of 0.47 to 0.6 weight percent based on the weight of 2,6-dimethylphenol, and the copper ion is present in a molar ratio of 2,6- dimethylphenol to copper ion of 900:1 to 1300:1. The process provides poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4- phenylene ether) having an intermediate molecular weight and intrinsic viscosity.[French]
