Abstract[English] An acoustic telemetry unit for a wellbore is disclosed The acoustic telemetry unit comprises a transmitter (46) for transmitting an acoustic signal through the wellbore, a sensor (54) for sensing an environmental parameter and a processing unit (30). The processing unit (30) is arranged to receive a sensed environmental parameter from the sensor (54) and to control an output of the transmitter (46) in dependence on the environmental parameter. This may provide the advantage of adapting the transmission signal to changing conditions in the wellbore to optimize transmission quality.[French] L'invention concerne une unité de télémétrie acoustique pour un puits de forage, l'unité de télémétrie acoustique comprenant un émetteur (46) pour émettre un signal acoustique à travers le puits de forage, un capteur (54) pour détecter un paramètre environnemental et une unité de traitement (30). L'unité de traitement (30) est conçue pour recevoir un paramètre environnemental détecté provenant du capteur (54) et pour commander une sortie de l'émetteur (46) en fonction du paramètre environnemental.
