La présente divulgation concerne des protéines Cry recombinantes et modifiées destinées à être utilisées dans des procédés et des compositions de lutte contre les insectes nuisibles, en particulier les coléoptères nuisibles et, plus précisément, le Sphenophorus levis qui s'attaque aux plantations de canne à sucre. Plus précisément, la divulgation concerne des protéines Cry recombinantes et modifiées basées sur la protéine Cry SCW123 et dérivées de celle-ci. La présente divulgation concerne en outre la production de compositions pesticides utilisant ces protéines. De plus, la présente divulgation concerne des procédés de lutte contre les insectes nuisibles, plus précisément contre les coléoptères nuisibles tels que S. levis, utilisant cette protéine.
