Abstract[English]
An acoustic telemetry system for a wellbore is disclosed The acoustic telemetry system comprises a processing unit (36) arranged to produce a sequence of pulses representing data to be transmitted, and an actuator (38) controllable by the processing unit to impart mechanical impulses to a wellbore structure (14), thereby producing acoustic pulses for transmission through the wellbore. The actuator (36) is operable under fluid pressure and may be for example may be a hydraulic actuator or a pneumatic actuator. This may help to reduce the risks associated with operating in a potentially explosive atmosphere.[French]
Est divulgué un système de télémétrie acoustique pour un puits de forage, le système de télémétrie acoustique comprenant une unité de traitement (36) agencée pour produire une séquence d'impulsions représentant des données à transmettre, et un actionneur (38) pouvant être commandé par l'unité de traitement pour transmettre des impulsions mécaniques à une structure de puits de forage (14), ce qui permet de produire des impulsions acoustiques pour une transmission à travers le puits de forage.
