Abstract[English]
Methods of forming a soil amendment include: (a) providing a carbon dioxide source; (b) adsorbing carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide source with sodium oxide of sodium bentonite clay to form sodium carbonate; (c) reacting the sodium carbonate with an olivine magnesium silicate to consume the sodium carbonate and form magnesium carbonate and sodium silicate; (d) reacting the sodium silicate with carbon dioxide to consume the sodium silicate, re-form sodium carbonate, and form silicon dioxide; and (e) forming the soil amendment by combining the generated magnesium carbonate and the silicon dioxide. Steps (c) and (d) continue in a continuous fashion until the olivine magnesium silicate is consumed. A soil amendment formed according to these methods is also described.[French]
L'invention concerne des procédés de formation d'un amendement des sols consistant : (a) à fournir une source de dioxyde de carbone ; (b) à adsorber le dioxyde de carbone de la source de dioxyde de carbone avec de l'oxyde de sodium d'argile bentonite sodique pour former du carbonate de sodium ; (c) à faire réagir le carbonate de sodium avec un silicate de magnésium olivine pour consommer le carbonate de sodium et former du carbonate de magnésium et du silicate de sodium ; (d) à faire réagir le silicate de sodium avec du dioxyde de carbone pour consommer le silicate de sodium, à reformer du carbonate de sodium et à former du dioxyde de silicium ; et (e) à former l'amendement des sols en combinant du carbonate de magnésium généré et du dioxyde de silicium.
