Abstract[English]
The invention relates to an introducer sheath designed to protect the luminal surface of a blood vessel and comprises a rigid collar with an opening, and an annular collar attached to it. The annular collar includes a circumferentially retractable elongated sleeve that extends longitudinally, forming a luminal channel terminating at a distal opening. The elongated sleeve consists of a circumferentially continuous elastomeric outer tube and a coiled expandable inner sheet positioned longitudinally within the lumen formed by the outer tube, in close contact with its luminal surface. By separately attaching the inner sheet and the outer tube to an outer surface of the rigid collar, a multi-layer expandable sheath system is provided without direct bonding of outer layer to inner layer.[French]
L'invention concerne une gaine d'introduction conçue pour protéger la surface luminale d'un vaisseau sanguin et comprenant une collerette rigide avec une ouverture, et une collerette annulaire fixée à celle-ci. La collerette annulaire comprend un manchon allongé rétractable de manière circonférentielle qui s'étend longitudinalement, formant un canal luminal se terminant par une ouverture distale. Le manchon allongé est constitué d'un tube externe en élastomère continu sur sa circonférence et d'une feuille interne expansible enroulée, positionnée longitudinalement à l'intérieur de la lumière formée par le tube externe, en contact étroit avec sa surface luminale.
