A clamping device (100) for clamping an elongate article (1, 2), the clamping device (100) comprising: a body (102) into which the elongate article (1, 2) is insertable; an entrance aperture (148, 248); an exit aperture (150, 250) adjacent to the entrance aperture (148, 248); and a flexible barrier (162, 262) proximal to the exit aperture (150, 250), wherein the flexible barrier (162, 262) is located relative to the exit aperture (150, 250) to be contactable by an end of the elongate article (1, 2), wherein force against the flexible barrier (162, 262) by the end of the elongate article (1, 2) deflects the flexible barrier (162, 262) in an opening direction to enable the end of the elongate article (1, 2) to leave the clamping device (100) through the exit aperture (150, 250), and wherein the clamping device (100) is configured to limit a range of flexure of the flexible barrier (162, 262) in the opening direction to an acute angle.[French]
