Abstract[English]
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to performing an over-the-air firmware update that includes re-partitioning of memory of a device by using a recovery mode of the device. According to one embodiment, a method for performing an over-the-air firmware update on a mobile device can comprise receiving, via a wireless communications interface, a firmware update package. In response to receiving the firmware update package, the mobile device can be switched from a normal mode of operation for the mobile device to a recovery mode of operation for the mobile device. While in the recovery mode of operation for the mobile device, the received firmware update package can be installed. Installing the received firmware update package can also update global partition tables of a memory of the mobile device.[French]
