Abstract[English] The inability to divide by zero is a fundamental longstanding problem in mathematics and every other field that depends on mathematics, including engineering and computer science. Semi-structured complex number set was created to enable division by zero. This invention, the Division by Zero Calculator, was created to use semi-structured complex numbers to perform standard scientific computations involving complex numbers (real and imaginary numbers) as well as non-standard scientific computations involving zero (including division by zero and the logarithm of zero). The calculator utilizes an "Infix to Postfix Convertor" module (102) and a "Postfix Evaluator" module (103) specifically designed to handle division by zero by means of semi-structured complex numbers. By enabling division by zero this invention reduces the time and space complexity required for computations in computer systems thus increasing the efficiency of such systems.[French] L'incapacité à diviser par zéro est un problème fondamental de longue date en mathématiques et dans tous les autres domaines qui dépendent des mathématiques, y compris l'ingénierie et la science informatique.
