La présente divulgation concerne, selon certains modes de réalisation, un procédé de production d'acier, le procédé consistant à former un hydrogène et un carbone à partir d'un gaz naturel à l'aide d'une électrolyse par plasma thermique; réduire les fines de minerai de fer avec le H2 pour former une briquette de fer; faire fondre le fer à briquettes depuis le four pour former un fer fondu et un laitier non métallique fondu; séparer le laitier non métallique du fer fondu dans le four; combiner le carbone et le fer fondu dans un four pour former un mélange de noir de carbone et de fer; et allier le fer fondu avec le noir de carbone pour former un acier.
