Abstract[English] A lubricant seal includes a sensor that utilizes the principles of diffraction gratings. The sensor is molded into the rubber structure of the lubricant seal and is disposed above the main sealing lip of the lubricant seal. The sensor may have a single or multiple diffraction gratings. The sensor measures wear of the lubricant seal, misalignment of the lubricant seal relative to a rotating shaft, or both. The sensor can be used for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.[French] Un joint de lubrifiant comprend un capteur qui utilise les principes des réseaux de diffraction. Le capteur est moulé dans la structure en caoutchouc du joint de lubrifiant et est disposé au-dessus de la lèvre d'étanchéité principale du joint de lubrifiant. Le capteur peut comporter un ou plusieurs réseaux de diffraction. Le capteur mesure l'usure du joint de lubrifiant, le désalignement du joint de lubrifiant par rapport à un arbre rotatif, ou les deux. Le capteur peut être utilisé pour une surveillance en temps réel et une maintenance prédictive.
