Abstract[English]
A surgical tool for eye surgery that utilizes a stiffening sleeve and employs a needle of extendible reach. The reach off the needle into the eye is dynamically adjustable by forcible interaction between the stiffening sleeve and a cannula at an outer location of a patient's eye. An end of the tool may retract to facilitate extension of the needle for added reach. Additionally, the sleeve may be further independently retracted for even greater reach of the needle implement toward a surgical site within the eye of the patient.[French]
L'invention concerne un outil chirurgical pour la chirurgie des yeux utilisant un manchon de renforcement et employant une aiguille de portée extensible. La portée de l'aiguille dans l'œil est réglable de manière dynamique par une interaction forcée entre le manchon de renforcement et une canule située à un emplacement extérieur de l'œil du patient. Une extrémité de l'outil peut se rétracter pour faciliter l'extension de l'aiguille pour une plus grande portée. En outre, le manchon peut être rétracté de manière indépendante pour permettre à l'instrument à aiguille d'atteindre encore plus facilement un site chirurgical dans l'œil du patient.
