Abstract[English] A method for performing mass spectrometry (MS) comprises receiving MS data corresponding to a plurality of MS runs, wherein MS data corresponding to an MS run of the plurality of MS runs comprises detected intensities for a plurality of mass over charge ratios (MZ values) during the MS run; finding a recurrent MZ value of the plurality of MZ values, wherein a detected intensity for the recurrent MZ value appears as a recurrent peak in MS data corresponding to a subset of the plurality of MS runs; and the subset of the plurality of MS runs includes at least two MS runs of the plurality of MS runs; and identifying the recurrent MZ value as corresponding to a background ion.[French] L'invention concerne un procédé de réalisation de la spectrométrie de masse (MS) comprenant la réception de données de MS correspondant à une pluralité de cycles de MS, les données de MS correspondant à un cycle de MS de la pluralité de séries de MS comprenant des intensités détectées pour une pluralité de rapports de masse sur charge (valeurs MZ) pendant le cycle de MS ; la recherche d'une valeur MZ récurrente de la pluralité de valeurs MZ, une intensité détectée pour la valeur MZ récurrente apparaissant en tant que pic récurrent dans les données de MS correspondant à un sous-ensemble de la pluralité de cycles de MS, et le sous-ensemble de la pluralité de cycles de MS comprenant au moins deux cycles de MS de la pluralité de cycles de MS ; et l'identification de la valeur MZ récurrente correspondant à un ion de fond.
