Abstract[English] A mechanical seal assembly (1) adapted for arrangement around a rotating shaft (12) of a pump has first and second seals (2, 3). Both include primary and mating rings (4, 5), biasing mechanisms (500) and annular flexible sealing membranes (100). The two seals can have different seal balances or different biasing forces (or both) to allow the second seal to run dry for extended periods.[French] Un ensemble joint mécanique (1) conçu pour être disposé autour d'un arbre rotatif (12) d'une pompe comportant des premier et second joints d'étanchéité (2, 3).
