Abstract[English]
The invention describes a modified release formulation comprising 2 to 10% withanolides, obtained from root powder of Withania somnifera. The formulation is comprised of at least one pH independent release controlling agent or the combination thereof. The invention also provides a process for preparation of modified release composition; wherein Ashwagandha root powder enriched with withanolides is uniformly dispersed and embedded throughout the matrix of at least one pH independent release controlling agent. The granules can be conveniently formulated in suitable compressible dosage forms, filled in sachets or capsules for oral administration. The formulation may release more than 75% of withanolides over a period of 6 to 12 hours. The modified release formulation may be useful for maintaining significant concentration of withanolides in blood plasma over extended time and can be administered to the subjects in need thereof for stress management, cognitive benefits and improving overall mental well-being.[French]
La présente invention concerne une formulation à libération modifiée comprenant de 2 à 10 % de withanolides, obtenue à partir de poudre de racine de Withania somnifera. La formulation est constituée d’au moins un agent de régulation à libération indépendante du pH ou une combinaison de ceux-ci. L’invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d’une composition à libération modifiée ; la poudre de racine d’Ashwagandha enrichie de withanolides étant uniformément dispersée et intégrée à travers la matrice d’au moins un agent de régulation à libération indépendante du pH. Les granules peuvent être formulés de manière pratique en formes dosifiées compressibles appropriées, placés dans des sachets ou des capsules pour l’administration par voie orale. La formulation peut libérer plus de 75 % de withanolides sur une période de 6 à 12 heures. La formulation à libération modifiée peut être utile pour maintenir une concentration considérable de withanolides dans le plasma sanguin sur une période prolongée et peut être administrée aux sujets en ayant besoin pour la gestion du stress, des avantages cognitifs et l’amélioration du bien-être mental global.
