Abstract[English]
A method includes receiving a parameterized mesh, the mesh defining a shape and attributes of an object in three-dimensional space; compressing the mesh to generate a two-dimensional patch of the mesh; and signaling at least one of: projection plane changes within the patch to support patches wrapping around a three-dimensional model; separation of attribute and geometry patch level of detail scaling to support at least one high resolution attribute patch alongside at least one lower resolution geometry patch, reflecting at least one feature of at least one lower vertex count mesh; or separation of attribute and geometry patch orientation for image packing.[French]
Un procédé comprend la réception d'un maillage paramétré, le maillage définissant une forme et des attributs d'un objet dans un espace tridimensionnel; la compression du maillage pour générer un patch bidimensionnel du maillage; et la signalisation d'au moins l'un des éléments suivants : des changements de plan de projection à l'intérieur du patch pour prendre en charge l'enroulement des patchs autour d'un modèle tridimensionnel; la séparation d'un attribut et d'une mise à l'échelle de niveau de détail d'un patch géométrique pour prendre en charge au moins un patch d'attribut à haute résolution le long d'au moins un patch géométrique à résolution inférieure, réfléchissant au moins une caractéristique d'au moins un maillage de compte de sommet inférieur; ou la séparation de l'attribut et de l'orientation de patch géométrique pour une mise en paquets d'images.
