An automated and integrated plant design system and method are developed to perform an optimized design of various aspects of a plant structure. The method includes providing a plant library, designing P&ID, PFD, plant civil model, plant piping model, plant electrical system, plant HVAC model, and plant equipment model utilizing a computing device and generating an 3D integrated plant model. A computer program is designed to implement the plant design method. The system comprises a computing device and a computer program that comprises a plurality of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and an artificial intelligence (AI) engine.
