Abstract[English] For an improved management of a postprocessor, esp. for a facilitated determination of a new postprocessor, for machining with a machine tool, a computer-implemented method is suggested comprising: • providing toolpath data (120) for machining a workpiece (140) with a tool (142) along a corresponding toolpath (122), wherein the tool (142) is comprised by a machine tool (144) which is numerically controlled by a control device (146); • providing sample machine code (124s); • providing a trial postprocessor software component (126t) for determining machine code (124) using toolpath data (120); • determining trial machine code (124t) using the trial postprocessor software component (126t) and the toolpath data (120); • determining a sample code architecture (128s) of the sample machine code (124s) and a trial code architecture (128t) of the trial machine code (124t); • determining characteristics (130) of the sample machine code (124) by comparing the sample code architecture (128s) with the trial code architecture (128t); and • determining a new postprocessor software component (126n) by incorporating the characteristics (130) into the trial postprocessor software component (126t).
