Abstract[English] Sonodynamic therapy systems and methods use short, high-pressure ultrasound pulses that produce small (and therefore clinically safe) increases (up to 1-2 °C) in tissue temperature but nonetheless activate sonodynamic agents, allowing isolated single-cavitation events to produce therapeutically beneficial effects (e.g., cytotoxicity) on diseased tissue.
