1. A process for liquefying hydrogen gas comprising: - initial cooling, usually called precooling, of hydrogen by means of indirect heat exchange with a external refrigerant - further cooling and liquefaction of the said cooled hydrogen by means of heat exchange with hydrogen or helium or mixtures of each with neon - enclosing the heat exchangers necessary for the said precooling in a first thermally insulated container, usually called a cold box. enclosing the heat exchangers necessary for the further cooling and liquefaction in a second thermally insulated container or cold box - enclosing the said second thermally insulated container or cold box within the volume of the said first thermally insulated container.[French]
Procédé de liquéfaction d'hydrogène gazeux comprenant : - le refroidissement initial, habituellement appelé pré-refroidissement, d'hydrogène par échange de chaleur indirect avec un réfrigérant externe; - le refroidissement supplémentaire et liquéfaction dudit hydrogène refroidi par échange de chaleur avec de l'hydrogène ou de l'hélium ou les mélanges de chacun avec du néon; - le confinement des échangeurs de chaleur nécessaires audit pré-refroidissement dans un premier récipient thermiquement isolé, généralement appelé boîte froide; - le confinement des échangeurs de chaleur nécessaires pour le refroidissement supplémentaire et la liquéfaction dans un second récipient isolé thermiquement ou une boîte froide; - le confinement dudit second récipient isolé thermiquement ou boîte froide à l'intérieur du volume dudit premier récipient isolé thermiquement.
