Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Steuervorrichtung (10) für zumindest ein hydraulisches Bremssystem eines Fahrzeugs und ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen eines Totwegs eines Hauptbremszylinders (16) mit einem vorgelagerten Aktuator (14) eines hydraulischen Bremssystems eines Fahrzeugs durch Ansteuern eines Motors des Aktuators (14) derart, dass zumindest ein Kolben (24) des Hauptbremszylinders (16) in zumindest eine Zwischenposition, bei welcher eine den Hauptbremszylinder (16) mit einem Reservoir (20) verbindende Bohrung (22) abgedichtet ist, verstellt wird, nach einem Deaktivieren des Motors, Transferieren eines Bremsflüssigkeitsvolumens aus mindestens einem Teilvolumen des hydraulischen Bremssystems in den Hauptbremszylinder (16) so, dass der Kolben (24) mittels einer ausgeübten Druckkraft aus der Zwischenposition zumindest in eine Bohrungsfreigabeposition, bei welcher die Abdichtung der Bohrung (22) endet, verstellt wird und Festlegen eines aktuellen Werts des Totwegs.[English]
