Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Lenksystems (2) eines Fahrzeugs (1), wobei - das Lenksystem (2) in einem autonomen Lenkmodus, in welchem Lenkvorgänge autonom durchgeführt werden, oder in einem manuellen Lenkmodus, in welchem Lenkvorgänge durch einen Nutzer (3) durchgeführt werden, betrieben wird, - der Nutzer (3) erfasst wird, wenn das Lenksystem (2) in dem autonomen Lenkmodus betrieben wird, und auf Basis des erfassten Nutzers (3) eine Nutzerinformation bestimmt wird, aufweisend: - Bestimmen eines Beurteilungsergebnis, indem ein potentieller, unmittelbar bevorstehender Lenkeingriff des Nutzers (3) auf Basis der zumindest einen Nutzerinformation beurteilt wird, und - Betreiben des Lenksystems (2), indem eine Lenkungsregelung (11) auf Basis des bestimmten Beurteilungsergebnisses vorkonfiguriert wird, wodurch das Lenksystem (2) auf einen potentiellen, unmittelbar bevorstehenden manuellen Lenkeingriff des Nutzers (3) während des autonomen Lenkmodus vorbereitet wird.
