Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Aktualisieren eines Steuergeräts eines Fahrzeugs, wobei das Fahrzeug eine Connectivity Control Unit umfasst, die mit dem Steuergerät in Verbindung steht, wobei ein mit der Connectivity Control Unit in Verbindung stehendes Smartphone ein Update-Paket empfängt, das Update-Paket durch das Smartphone in mehrere Teil-Pakete aufgeteilt wird, die Teil-Pakete an die Connectivity Control Unit übertragen werden und ausgehend von den Teil-Paketen das Steuergerät aktualisiert wird. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem eine Vorrichtung, eingerichtet, eine Verbindung mit einem Smartphone aufzubauen, von dem Smartphone übertragene Teil-Pakete, zu empfangen und ausgehend von den Teil-Paketen Bus-Nachrichten zu erstellen und die Bus-Nachrichten an ein Steuergerät zu senden, sodass das Steuergerät aktualisiert wird.[English]
