Abstract[German] Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Schmalflächenbeschichtung von, vorzugsweise rechteckigen, Plattenelementen, insbesondere Möbelplatten, Holzwerkstoffplatten, Arbeitsplatten, Spanplatten, Leichtbauplatten, Innenausbauplatten, Türen, Faserzementplatten oder dergleichen, - wobei zunächst mindestens eine Oberfläche des Plattenelements mittels eines Beschichtungsmaterials beschichtet wird, - wobei danach auch eine Beschichtung einer Schmalfläche des Plattenelementes mittels dieses Beschichtungsmaterials erfolgt, - wobei hierzu über die Oberfläche des Plattenelements hinausragendes Beschichtungsmaterial, vorzugsweise im rechten Winkel, umgebogen wird, dass es mindestens eine Schmalfläche des Plattenelementes bedeckt, - wobei das Beschichtungsmaterial vor oder nach dessen Biegung im Biegebereich linienförmig abgetrennt wird, und - wobei danach der linienförmige Abtrennbereich mittels eines Kunststoffprofils oder einer Kunststoffmasse, vorzugsweise aus polymeren A-Material, vorzugsweise mittels eines Schmelzverfahrens, aufgefüllt wird. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Plattenelement, insbesondere eine Möbelplatte, Holzwerk- stoffplatte, Arbeitsplatte, Spanplatte, Leichtbauplatte, Innenausbauplatte, Tür, Faserzementplatte oder dgl., mit einer Dicke D, umfassend wenigstens ein Beschichtungselement, sowie wenigstens ein Kantenbandprofil, das eine Breite B2 von 5 bis 120 mm, vorzugsweise 5 bis 105 mm aufweist.
