Abstract[English] Process for the preparation of methanol, comprising the steps of (a) providing an amount of methanol synthesis gas comprising hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide; (b) introducing the amount of methanol synthesis gas into at least one methanol reactor; (c) catalytic reacting the at least part of the methanol synthesis gas to methanol; (d) withdrawing from the at least one methanol reactor produced methanol and passing the produced methanol to a methanol storage unit; (e) reducing the amount of methanol synthesis gas introduced into the at least one methanol reactor and passing methanol product from the methanol storage unit to a catalytic methanol cracking unit; (f) cracking the part of the withdrawn methanol product in the catalytic methanol cracking unit to a cracked methanol synthesis gas; and (g) adding the cracked methanol synthesis gas from step (f) into the reduced amount of methanol synthesis gas in step (e).[French] L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de méthanol, comprenant les étapes consistant à (a) fournir une quantité de gaz de synthèse de méthanol comprenant de l'hydrogène, du monoxyde de carbone et du dioxyde de carbone ; (b) introduire la quantité de gaz de synthèse de méthanol dans au moins un réacteur de méthanol ; (c) réaliser une réaction catalytique d'au moins une partie du gaz de synthèse de méthanol avec du méthanol ; (d) retirer dudit/desdits réacteur(s) de méthanol le méthanol produit et faire passer le méthanol produit dans une unité de stockage de méthanol ; (e) réduire la quantité de gaz de synthèse de méthanol introduite dans ledit/lesdits réacteur(s) de méthanol et faire passer le produit de méthanol de l'unité de stockage de méthanol vers une unité de craquage catalytique de méthanol ; (f) craquer la partie du méthanol produit retiré dans l'unité de craquage catalytique de méthanol en un gaz de synthèse de méthanol craqué ; et (g) ajouter le gaz de synthèse de méthanol craqué de l'étape (f) dans la quantité réduite de gaz de synthèse de méthanol de l'étape (e).
