Abstract[English] The invention relates to a simulated-moving-bed (SMB) separating process and device suitable for determining the water content of a stream of compounds (e.g. containing xylenes) flowing through an SMB unit (1) by: recording near-infrared (NIR) spectra of a set of samples, the samples being selected so that the water contents of the samples lie at least in part in a range of water contents of the stream of compounds; measuring the water contents of the set of samples using a reference measuring method; developing a correlative multivariate-regression model linking the NIR spectra of the set of samples and the water contents of the set of samples; recording a NIR spectrum of the stream of compounds; and applying the correlative multivariate-regression model to the NIR spectrum of the stream of compounds to determine the water content of the stream of compounds.[French] Procédé et dispositif de séparation en lit mobile simulé (LMS) adaptés pour déterminer la teneur en eau d'un flux de composés (e.g. comprenant des xylènes) circulant dans une unité LMS (1) par : l'enregistrement de spectres proche infrarouge (PIR) d'un jeu d'échantillons, les échantillons étant choisis de sorte que les teneurs en eau des échantillons s'étendent au moins en partie sur une plage de teneurs en eau du flux de composés; la mesure des teneurs en eau du jeu d'échantillons par une méthode de mesure de référence; le développement d'un modèle corrélatif de régression multivariée entre les spectres PIR du jeu d'échantillons et les teneurs en eau du jeu d'échantillons; l'enregistrement d'un spectre PIR du flux de composés; et l'application du modèle corrélatif de régression multivariée sur le spectre PIR du flux de composés pour déterminer la teneur en eau du flux de composés.
