Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren für den Betrieb einer elektrischen Sichtelementanordnung (1), insbesondere einer Fensteranordnung, eines Kraftfahrzeugs (2), wobei die Sichtelementanordnung (1) mindestens ein transparentes, in seinem Transparenzgrad veränderbares Sichtelement (3) und eine Steuereinheit (4) aufweist, wobei das Sichtelement (3) mittels der Steuereinheit (4) zur Einstellung seines Transparenzgrads angesteuert wird. Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Steuereinheit (4) in einer Defekterkennungsroutine einen elektrischen Parameter des Sichtelements (3) misst und auf Basis des elektrischen Parameters ermittelt, ob ein Defekt des Sichtelements (3) vorliegt.[English]
