Die Erfindung betrifft ein Haushaltsgerät (1), aufweisend einen mittels einer Tür (2) verschließbaren Behandlungsraum (3) für Behandlungsgut (3), einen Feuchtesensor (6) zum Messen einer Feuchtigkeit in dem Behandlungsraum (3), mindestens eine die Feuchtigkeit in dem Behandlungsraum (3) reduzierende Funktionseinheit (8 - 16) und eine mit dem Feuchtesensor (6) gekoppelte Steuereinrichtung (17), die dazu eingerichtet ist, beruhend auf mindestens einem durch den Feuchtesensor (6) gemessenen Feuchtigkeitsmesswert ein Feuchtigkeitsmaß zu berechnen und die dazu eingerichtet, einen Trocknungsvorgang unter Aktivierung mindestens einer feuchtigkeitsreduzierenden Funktionseinheit (7 - 16) durchzuführen, wenn das Feuchtigkeitsmaß einen vorgegebenen Schwellwert erreicht, wobei die Steuereinrichtung (17) ferner dazu eingerichtet ist, die Feuchtigkeitsmesswerte in bestimmten Zeitabständen außerhalb eines Behandlungsvorgangs für das Behandlungsgut (G) zu überwachen, dabei jeweils ein aktuelles Feuchtigkeitsmaß zu berechnen und den Trocknungsvorgang auszulösen, wenn das Feuchtigkeitsmaß den vorgegebenen Schwellwert erreicht. Die Erfindung ist insbesondere vorteilhaft anwendbar auf Gargeräte, insbesondere mit Dampfbehandlungsfunktion.[English]
