Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Vornahme von Steuerfunktionen mittels einer Steuersoftware (Soft), insbesondere einer Software zur Steuerung eines Fahrzeugs, wobei die Steuersoftware (Soft) Codeabschnitte (AB1, AB2) mit Prüfcode, insbesondere eines Validators (GV, LV, SV, HV), zur Validierung von Berechnungen zugeordnet sind, wobei mittels Verteidigungsniveau- Angaben den in der Steuersoftware (Soft) enthaltenen Prüfcodes jeweils in Bezug auf einen Angriff aus einer Angriffsliste (Att) ein Verteidigungsniveau (DefL) zuordnen ist, wobei das Verfahren folgende Schritte umfasst: a) computergestütztes Berechnen mindestens eines Gesamtverteidigungsniveaus (TDef) unter Verwendung zumindest einer Auswahl der Verteidigungsniveau-Angaben (Def); b) Verwenden des Gesamtverteidigungsniveaus (TDef) zur Verbesserung der Sicherheit der Steuersoftware (Soft).[English]
